As women transition into the era of their life where they feel like they need to have everything 'sorted', quite often life feels anything but this. It is the natural instinct of a woman to nurture and look after those around her, and help where she can...
...however, sometimes this 'people pleasing' behaviour can be more detrimental to their health and wellbeing than they realise.
THE BEHAVIOUR PATTERN OF
PEOPLE PLEASING, CONFLICT & RESENTMENT
As she walks into the office on a new Monday morning, she tries her best to feel good. She wonders what the week will bring & that maybe... this week... she WILL be happy.
She wishes that she didn't say yes to helping her coworker with that project ~ because ultimately she is now doing two jobs.
Feeling tired already, she wonders if she didn't have to hold space & spend so much time handling her parents seemingly never ending needs ~ that maybe she would have enjoyed her weekend.
Her phone beeps and it's her friend... another text about how terrible her relationship is. She sighs, looks up out into the distance. Her stomach tightens as she knows she also needs to work on her relationship.
She feels the anger and frustration starting to rise. Tears welling at the back of her eyes. She is happy to help ~ and in fact she wants to, but she never seems to receive anything in return. In her mind she says 'I'm so tired, and I've got nothing left to give.'
